The Punjab government finally agreed to call in Rangers to wipe out terrorist groups from Punjab province. The decision in this regard taken in the meeting of provincial Apex Committee. The civilian and military leadership decided to launch all out action against terrorists. The rangers will help the police and other law enforcing agencies to fight against terrorist groups.
The opposition parties in Punjab were demanding such action from long period of time. But the Punjab government was refusing to involve Rangers, a paramilitary force in this action. Now finally Punjab government agreed to give powers to Rangers to counter the wave of terrorism in the province.
