No decision yet on military courts

The government has failed to convince the opposition parties and its own allies to reestablish the military courts. The opposition parties PPPP and PTI are asking the government to give explanation on the courts. The opposition also demanded briefing from the military authorities.

The federal minister of Law and Justice Zahid Hamid briefed the parliamentary leaders on the performance of the military courts. But his briefing failed to satisfy the opposition parties. Opposition parties also demanding in camera briefing in parliament from military leadership.

The next meeting of the committee will be held on 31st January 2017. The government will give more detailed briefing in that meeting.
