The 27 nation EU waste food of 88 million ton every year. The European Union Court of Auditors criticised European Commission for not doing enough to stop this wastage of food. The report pointed out the lack of effort and policy frame work for the reason of this waste. The annual associated cost of this waste is 143 billion Euros. This money is enough to feed millions of hungry people in the world.
Every day millions go hungry in the poor countries for not having enough food to eat but on the other hand 501 million people in the EU waste 88 million tons of food. This is criminal waste of the natural resources. If this food is given to the food banks in Europe then it can feed millions of people.
